My researchFlexibility in energy usage: to avoid local grid congestion, it should be possible to ‘trade’ in energy and local network capacity to avoid local grid congestion. The challenge is that the energy market is a national wide market whereas the congestion challenge is a relatively small local problem. How can these two markets be integrated? Is integration the best or a more complex solution?

My researchAdoption of e-taxi’s in Amsterdam. The priority incentive stimulates some taxi drivers to switch to EVs, but the majority remains undecided.
My next stepTo undertake further research so we can fully understand the reasoning of taxi drivers with regard to EV adoption and to explore the different incentives that ought to facilitate a clean choice.
With whom?We will work closely with the municipality of Amsterdam.
How does my research contribute to the optimization of charging infrastructure development and utilization?A growing electric taxi fleet will also mean a growing demand for (fast)chargers, which might mean that the existing charging infrastructure requires expansion.

My next stepUpdate and enhance the questionnaire and send it to a larger group of Dutch EV-users.
With whom?Very simple: we need the contact details of a wider group EV-users. E-mobility services providers and car leasing companies could help us with it.
How does my research contribute to the optimization of charging infrastructure development and utilization?From the survey results we can map what the EV-users think about the EV charging infrastructure and what their preferences are regarding the infrastructure. Research result could potentially be used as extra information in case of future roll-out of the charging infrastructure.
